Frog Biting During Feedings

Frog Biting During Feedings

African Dwarf Frogs are known to typically have poor eyesight.  When they are feeling extra hungry, they will reach out and try to snack on anything that moves by them including the plant or another frog.

We recommend adding an additional day of feeding - feed three times a week, two pellets per frog.  This will train the frogs that there is plenty of food.  Watch for any uneaten food in the Biosphere.  Please remove it with a turkey baster (water extraction tool) after 24 hours.

Our frogs do like the occasional treat!  On a non-pellet feeding day, live Black Worms (NOT BLOOD WORMS), Frozen Brine Shrimp, or Frozen Mysis Shrimp are great treats for the frogs.  Take the frozen cube and drop in 1/4 of the cube.  Save the rest in the freezer for the next treat!
